About the installation:
The visitors of this exhibition, by using the installed headphones, are able to look at the 24 photos and to listen to the 24 audio files. Photos: I made the photos in Vienna. The photos are viewed from a kitchen at different times and brightness. I made double exposure with objects of everyday use in this Vienna kitchen.
Audio files:
At first I was writing poetry about the sense of life from the viewpoint of a computer. I used two ways to make audio files out of them.
A - I used a text editor software to type them. After that, the Computer recites the text. For this, I used a software that is able to speak. At the end I was recording the speech at the computer as an audio file.
B - I read the text by using a microphone. I used a software that is able to translate the speech of a human into editable text. The thing is - there is no machine so perfect that it makes no mistakes. That means the text which the computer understands is different from the original I was reading. The sense of the stuff is - If the computer is unable to understand a word of my speech, then it is using any other word (which sounds similar) to the vocabulary. And that sounds miraculous. And it’s like in real life - sometime humans do not understand each other -> followed by an incorrect interpretation of the speech of another human -> a problem along the way. In the next step I was using a text editor software to type them.
After that, the Computer was reciting the text. For this, I was using a software that is able to speak. At the end, I was recording the speech of the computer as an audio file.
